Dear Jake,
I encourage you to simply express your feelings to this young lady and ask her how she feels about you. She may share in the attraction or may like you as a good friend. Either way, you have gained what appears to be a warm and upbeat person in your life.
To answer your other question, true love does exist. It happens when there is a solid foundation of genuine friendship, mutual trust, respect, shared faith, – and of course, love. True and lasting love takes time to develop whereas attraction is purely physical.
